The Bangor School Department has a comprehensive K-12 Guidance Plan that supports its mission of academic excellence for all students. Counselor services are available to students and their parents experiencing developmental issues and/or problems.

Mr. Travis McClure is the school counselor at Downeast School and works with students individually, in small groups and in whole classroom environments. Mr. McClure engages students in activities/lessons covering topics such as: social skills, peer relationships, respect, conflict resolution, goal setting, feelings and personal responsibility.
